Some sites may have many long articles, or posts. The problem is that on most WordPress web sites, the entire post is shown on the home page, and often on category and tag pages as well. This causes the screen space to be completely taken up by one article. The older posts are way down on the bottom, and your visitors might not even know they are there. Enter the “More…” divider:When you use the “More…” divider, your readers can see the beginning of an article, up to where you put the divider in. If they are interested in the post, they can click the link to finish reading it. Otherwise, they can see what else is available.

How to add the divider:

The "More..." divider buttonIn a post (old or new), put your cursor at the spot where you want the “More…” divider to show up, generally about a paragraph or so into the article. Then click the “More…” divider button on the toolbar. The divider will show up in the editing space. When your visitors browse your site, they will see the first part of the post, and can click the link to see the rest.
